Exploring the barren woods with my old friend Japhy Ryder. Adding a bit of color on a gray and dreary day.
Once January rolls around in Ohio, the sun tends to remain hidden for days at at time. Yesterday was no exception. My dog and I, eager to spend some time outdoors, went hiking since the rain finally let up. This is what the weather man called a partly sunny day. It was fine by us. Anything is better than winter rain.
We were able to take a little time out last evening and watch the sun go down out at Antrim Park. Beauty and peace are all around if we are just able to notice it.
There is always a great view when your have nature.
Seek on high bare trails
The cloud cover was quite thick when we were at Cannon Beach. At times it was difficult to see the mountains and trees that are in this photograph. The sun did burn most of the cloud cover off and what was left was moving at a pretty fast pace.
This is the last sunset I have from Oregon. We are looking into Washington State across the Columbia River as the sun is gong down behind the Cascade mountains. This might have been the best dinner location I have ever had.
The first falls that we explored, Latourell Falls. The hike was pleasant and we were excited to get lost into Oregon’s wilderness. This hike had amazing views across valleys and mountains and was a great prep hike for the big 6 mile up and down a mountain that was to come.
Sun going down over the Columbia River between Washington and Oregon. In the distance you can see the Bridge of the Gods. This is one of my favorite photographs that I took during the trip.
