Walking

I have been very cooped up lately with other projects and am itching to shoot a lot of images…therefore my only reliable source of a subject since winter is here is myself. This is a self shot while walking to the store a few weeks ago.

One of the coolest delivery trucks that I have seen and producers of one of the best beers that I tried while out in Portland. Their RPM IPA is fantastic. Go rush out to Oregon and try some.

Go Ride

Although this is a typical scene in Portland and a few other cities, it is not for most place. Get out and ride a bike. It not only is a means for exercise, but it is a great way to relieve stress. When riding a bike, you not only help cut pollution, but you save your self the mental anguish of driving around in traffic in a car. Interesting fact: Approximately10 bicycles can fit into one parking space. This means that if more people rode bikes we could potentially require less paved parking lots, which could become areas where grass and trees could grow again, providing better scenery and places for our animal and bird friends to live. Go ride a bike and experience the world around us instead of being isolated inside your car. Go ride.

My wife and I are no strangers to Art Walks and community art gatherings as we have participated in them in Toledo and in Columbus, Ohio. So needles to say we were pretty stoked to find out that Portland’s First Thursday was going on while we were in town, and of course we had to check it out. It was very comparable to Columbus’ Art Walk, except there was way more artist’s that set up booths on the streets that were closed off, creating a street fair vibe. We had a blast. A street fair is not a street fair without street musicians and Djinn Maury was one of our favorites. I was able to capture a few shots of his performance while my wife bought one of his CD’s. I would highly recommend checking out his music. https://www.reverbnation.com/violinsecrets
